Greetings and Welcome from Weddings-Cakes-by-laurice!

Sweet Moments Dessert Company was born out of my love of cooking and baking.  I grew up around great cooks so it only seemed natural that I should learn to cook from all the wonderful people in my life.  As the daughter of a single working Mom, it fell to me to help cook family meals at the age of 12.  From there I just kept cooking.  I have put together 5 course dinners and also cooked for 100s of people but my passion is making desserts.  I just love to watch people’s expressions when they bite into my creations.  A smile is my biggest reward.

People often ask me if I went to culinary or pastry school. I didn’t.  For the most part, I am self taught though I received some basic professional instruction.   In college, I took commercial food preparation classes as part of my degree in Hotel/ Restaurant Management.  After my first daughter was born I decided to fulfill a life long desire and took cake decorating classes at a local craft store.  From then on I just had fun, kept trying new things and making more complex cakes.

Through the years I have received many awards and ribbons for my baking.   As an amateur I received several 1st and 2nd place finishes at the LA County Fair and other local competitions.  After starting my business in 2006,  I won Best in Presentation for the Soroptomist International of Riverside’s 2008 Annual Battle of the Bakers.  In 2010, I got to be on the pilot of Momster of the Bride on Style Network where my mini cakes were shown.  I still get emails and calls from people when it re-airs which is always great fun.

Sweet Moments has been an incredible blessing in my life and has grown tremendously.  I love touching people’s lives one sweet moment at a time.  I hope to make one of the special moments in your life a little sweeter…

Although I’m primarily located in Corona, I create wedding cakes and other desserts to Riverside, Anaheim, Las Vegas (you pick up as you leave for Las Vegas), and surrounding cities in the Inland Empire and Orange County.  Please contact me.
